What does America mean to you? Is it the land of the free? Is it the home of the brave? Is it where anyone can be all they can be? Is it a nation enslaved? A melting pot, a land of have and have nots, the stars and the stripes, innocents behind bars, and online gripes. The Roman Empire waiting to fall, a military-industrial complex, one gigantic shopping mall, a land of bounced checks. a place where anyone can make it, anyone can fake it, anyone can take it, and anyone can break it. Rooted in genocide and theft, with mass shootings in pride bereft of reasons why. These divided states of hysteria, with wide skies, where edited profiles stare at you, and try to close your bright eyes. A land of enchantment and hope, a land of planned and slippery slope. A land of divide and conquer, and the illusion of control. A land of media and mayhem, of families trying to make ends meet. A land where everyone has things to say, platforms to say them, and yet the majority feel incomplete.
