Do you believe in magic?

Is it dark or is it light?

Is your first instinct to speak

of something that relieves,

or something that is tragic,

when you spark it up

on the mic?

I believe that magic exists

in this world,

not just with the flick of a wand.

I believe it has turns and twists

which point us to the great beyond.

Darkness itself does not exist.

it simply is how we describe

the absence of light.

For the sun is always shining

somewhere. Even in what seems

our darkest night.

I’m not trying to spark this fight,

or this debate. I’m not trying to circumvent

love, or preach hate.

My job is to love, to labor, and wait.

Enjoying the magic show,

I can’t always describe or state,

letting the mystery go, grow, and glow,

until my own flow can equate.
