When we speak our stories into existence, we may not solve all of the riddles we discover about ourselves. Sometimes the ones we love the most remain an enigma wrapped in layers of woundedness and betrayal. Sometimes we share these stories to fight for truth, connection, community, and reconciliation. Sometimes stories play the role of hero in a relationship that desperately needs a savior. Love bats last.
We daily face these fates together, as everything that breathes will one day cease to breathe. But we may cease to grieve, and laugh forever, if we remember every day we believe.
