“Why doesn’t somebody do something?”

People are doing things. Every day.
People are fighting good fights every day. People are upset, overjoyed, surprised, overwhelmed and born every day.

People fall in love, eat at new restaurants, empty the garbage, listen to the radio in traffic, and die every day.

People leave jobs and start new ones every day. Baggage, literally and metaphorically, gets lost every day. Somewhere it’s too hot or too cold every day. Kids have birthday parties every day. We’re all slopping through the muck of past mistakes, and dealing with information at an alarming rate.

We are all hoping for a better existence. It’s just that we have such differing views on how to get there. People are serving and giving, listening and preparing, hugging and lending every day.

There are helpers in every corner of the world. There are just as many beautiful and tragic stories happening right now in boarded up projects AND gated communities. There are battles being fought every moment of every day. We can choose to ignore that, or we can take up arms and letters for the sake of the sacred. Will you join me?
