We are made angels across time in contemplation of our demise. Our mortality makes us whole and yet fragile. We witness to others who are young and do not yet have the taste of decay in their mouths. They stare blankly back as if no explanation could possibly be exhaustive. We smile on the inside in the knowing that, ultimately, they will learn the lesson, even if their teacher isn’t personally known to us.
