Visions appear as often as they please
not as we plead, coerce or summon
arriving in manner they need to be seen
without wide warning for their coming
We may interpret most of them wrong
or their mystery may elude us in full
else frequent visitation staying long
dancing partners in our push and pull
The sky will open up and close shut
the darkness will pass and light return
for our dreams may teach us the what
whereas the why we wish most to learn
Viewed through the lens of immortality
these gifts may relinquish a blessing,
scoped through the prism of present decay,
a curse,
void of complete clarity and neutrality
a smattering of scattering tableau
finding their way into professing,
wondering which feat of the two today
is worse.
