SYNOPSIS: @brukatheatre ‘s first ever Poet in Residence, Jesse, will explore aspects of poetry which have given him ‘Faith In Various Experiences’.
During his first five years as a Reno/Sparks resident he has been a Showcase Performer, a Slam Poetry Competitor, Scorekeeper, Judge, Board Member, Special Event Host, and Principle Photographer for The SPOKEN VIEWS COLLECTIVE. He has also been a community activist, a two time judge for the national competition ‘Poetry Out Loud’, a two time photographer for the Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl, and a two time Forte Award Winner.
This will be the fifth poetry show Jesse has hosted at his beloved Bruka Theatre, and the release of his first chap book, ‘FIVE’, is set to coincide with Bruka’s New Works Festival. He will be reading and performing pieces from the book.
Jesse will be accompanied by the one and only, Slam Queen Elisa Garcia who will do several original pieces of her own.
