It’s always good to work on my craft, especially when it lifts up the local poetry community by engaging with such lovely folks as today allowed. I feel richly blessed to have taken part in @sejdb ‘s exercises. Happy National Poetry Month everyone!

Poetry is my cathartic release.
Poetry is my pastime.
Poetry is my therapy.

Poetry is my way of sharing and connecting with others for the sake of building relationships and community.

Authenticity proves itself over time regardless of doubt or obstacles, as heartfelt rhythms echo the patterns brought forth by our innermost self. Symbolic gestures aid in the understanding of our authentic hearts while emotional extension to others builds bridges rather than walls, revealing the paths we were meant to be on all along…

Grand Reunion

As we authentically seek understanding rather than feeling like we are right all of the time we begin to be shaped and sharpened by one another. Preparing for peace in a world of war. Preparing for coming together rather than tearing apart.

Trying to snap stills tonight was like trying to capture lightning in a bottle. The evening was simply magical. Javon Johnson we were lucky to have you here in the Biggest Little City. Spoken Views Collective and Wolf Speaks UNR are better off for your presence, performance, and storytelling at the Nevada Museum of Art.

NOTE:
Each session’s HOST has full authority over the evening. They determine when to have an intermission, how many time slots to honor, and when the evening comes to an end. The HOST as well is singularly in charge of any ground rules for the evening including content, participation, and the venue itself.
No hate speech, violence, racism, misogyny, or disrespectful disruptive behavior will be tolerated. No predatory behavior will be tolerated. As an ongoing regular event for Spoken Views Collective, MONDAY NIGHT POETRY has a zero tolerance policy for the fore mentioned behaviors. Spoken Views Collective additionally designates the evening’s HOST as reserving the right to have any and all individuals breaking these expected codes of conduct (which honor the humanity in each other) removed and denied service. If patterns of behavior are either singularly egregious enough or show a pattern of behavior across multiple venues or events then individuals may be denied access to the Collective altogether in order to maintain our vision as a community entity.
