Look up.
Gaze upon the stars held loosely in the rafters of your existence. Feel the uniqueness in each falling flake as it melts upon the ridges of your cheeks. Love the life you’ve been given and the light you’ve been exposed to. These days are falling into themselves in antiquated and cyclical ways. These patterns of behavior are not uncommon ones across the open veins of history which will not allow the heart to be replenished. Know that you exist in space and time, with a voice that is waiting to be heard. It may provide others with healing and perspective along the way, but just like the falling flakes, you are not alone, and you never will be.

We reflect on life whenever we are at a stand still, and we try to survive as the rapids push on, inbetween busy absorbing the thrill, before this vapor is long since gone. We are on a rescue mission for our own souls, with few if any examples as to how it’s done, trying to attain lofty and distant goals, as each stepping stone battle is won.

Sitting back
just a little further than before,
I am met with a delay in memory
rivalling the greatest lapses,
and it makes me smile.
I grin from ear to ear,
a country mile wide.
I reside at peace
with the release
it gives me inside.
And, only in the instant
I have given up all
need, want, or hope
for recollection,
do I finally remember
what it was
in the first place.
