None of us knows what is to come, and we only have a limited glance at where we’ve been, but if we understand where we came from, we can better know how to begin. In these lives we try to understand as more than reprimands and happenstance, but rather as songs to sing and reasons to dance. This drives us to hold out our hands and ask questions at a glance, while waiting on baited breath entranced.

Satisfied~Fire~Tired, giving the brain the time to sift through pain and allow it to be rewired. Satisfaction after going from hired to fired but still admired, at peace, and little less of that tired. A release, a relief, for the sake of seeking what is ultimately desired.

Standing on the coast many moons ago I was revisited by the age old question yet again: How do we remain authentic, open, honest, raw, and vulnerable in a world which seems to be intent on destruction and manipulation to that end. The answer, I believe, is that humility is servant leadership carried out over the course of human action and creativity is prayer to the author of all life who wrote our character and oh so many more…

We all choose things to self medicate. From fast food to rom-com, going for a drive to yoga in the park. We all have things we wouldn’t wish to discuss with others in the dark. When the words are right on the tip of your tongue you feel frozen, incapacitated to the end of causal communication. Even small victories can feel like defeat, until the thaw occurs, the tension melts, and the muscle memory of known verbiage continues to flow.

I’ve heard it rhythmically sung, as if the note hung forever on the tongue, ‘we better accentuate the positive and eliminate the negative’, but what if everything feels like it’s caving in to a storm cloud that rains on the grand parade? What if circumstances and experiences have taught one to be devastated and afraid? What if, as a country, we’re simply sleeping in the bed we’ve made, and the most intuitive among us do not wish to maintain their stay?
