When we speak our stories into existence, we may not solve all of the riddles we discover about ourselves. Sometimes the ones we love the most remain an enigma wrapped in layers of woundedness and betrayal. Sometimes we share these stories to fight for truth, connection, community, and reconciliation. Sometimes stories play the role of hero in a relationship that desperately needs a savior. Love bats last.
We daily face these fates together, as everything that breathes will one day cease to breathe. But we may cease to grieve, and laugh forever, if we remember every day we believe.

I have marvelled at how filled with life you have seemed on particular days which defy expectation. Nestling in to the couch he remains as still as the initial hoist line on the circus tent. Rest will come eventually. As for now, the stillness will more than suffice. It will feed him in ways that he had never even known he was hungry.

Advanced ceremonies of belonging trigger past movements towards building bridges that were determined to burn. Present testimony of the senses yields a forgiveness of all previous loss for the sake of current holdings. Dreaming ahead to the future there is only reluctance in desiring humility, and there is only doubt in all things previous. Each past chapter held its own candle against the darkness. All of the flames have lit up my life in remembrance. But the flame which captivates without consumption, the flame which warms from within, the sphere of existence at the center of all creativity and love, the fire that is kept going all night by the force of poetry in motion, by way of the will of the spirit. This flame. This flame is special, and should be regarded as such.

Feel the flow of the green, the red, the black, and the blue.
Reaching for the money, the blood, ideologic attacks, and H20.
Heal and know the mean, near dead, looking back at you,
can teach you, just as well, how and why to go.
The flow of life teaches us daily where we are headed, if we’re open,
We can take that internal blurring stir of language and let it, work our way into hoping.
So you, sitting alone at home weary boned and wishing things could be better,
Try flowing, in the zone, honing your intuition, and sing your best self a letter.
Feel the flow of these words in your ears,
Resonating deep down in your heart,
Let them speak to your greatest losses and fears,
Let them, if need be, tear you apart.
But let the words rebuild you,
Always let them build you again,
to face for the day, with mercy and grace,
whatever we are to face, in whatever way,
because others need to hear what we say,
And if not now, when?!
