Storming in summer, double rainbow, wind nearly pushes the entire table into the pool. The staff are too attentive. It gets saved in the nick of time. Clock tower frozen across showers, a smattering of a rebellion against this heat. The lightening was not far off. Here’s to hoping that it wasn’t dry.

The morning after the biggest night of your life, lawfully wed with best friend in the Biggest Little with wife. Drawing back the curtains to let the light in, no mirror to reveal the wide bright grin to begin a life and happily begin, these moments swallowed by time, are celebrated annually for a reason. The inbetween. The realm between this and that. Where captured birds become restless enough to take to flight, and domesticated dogs are content to lie without question of existence or betrayal. The land between borders and outside of known expectations. The birds return to nest and rest. We marvel at their flight while, unknowing as to our own place or status. We become envious of those who incessantly roam. We pardon those who have settled for comfort. We traverse these realms searching for our forever home, treating the path along the way as a test with some sport.

He scowers the earth, trying to act on the powers he has. He’s a coward from birth, trying to devour everything in his path. The ripples from his waves are getting louder and prouder in their wrath. Soon all well intentioned towers will crack, leaving wounds from these outward attacks.

I want to enter you this evening.

I want my words to pour in through your ears.

I want to be the dissenting opinion, sent from oblivion

to help with grieving, who came and went,

but first spoke to your fears.

You see, we can make this call and answer,

We can make this spit and respond.

we can make this about battling cancer,

me revealing my magic wand, or the great beyond.

But I’m more fond of the knowing being

an internal stirring,

a mystical meltdown with dervishes whirling

and that sense of absolute YES

on the inside

without even saying a word.

For once that internal stirring gets stirred,

there’s no telling what could happen,

so don’t start napping now,

I’m about to enter the body.
