When we search for love we find it to be elusive. It may tease us with potential, and reopen old wounds in the process. When we sit in the thick of life, present, emanating love and its ability to chip away at life’s miasma of toxicity, we find that it seeks us out. It tracks us down. It wishes to sit with us and ponder life’s deeper things.

While waiting in line at the #DMV ,(something we all suffer through from time to time) I was reminded of Jenny’s prayer in #forrestgump. “Dear God, make me a bird, so I can fly far, far away from here.” And, as the universe would choose to wink at me, I looked to my right and saw an active nest. I didn’t fly away with them. I stayed in line and handled my business. I just took it as a sign that someone somewhere is always listening. Someone is always smiling upon us even if we can’t see them through the storm clouds. It was enough to warm my heart, give me peace, and help me endure.
