~ Not all moments are forgiving ~

The moment before inspiration is not captured on this page. It was pushed aside violently when it struck. But that particular moment was quite forgiving, and could be summoned back with an authentic apology through a lilted voice. For every moment that is forgotten, discouraged, cursed, taken advantage of or for granted; all of these moments. Each and every one wants to be inspired too.

One might think that it would be easy to tell the story of two lovers of storytelling joined by that same love. We met doing a play at a community theatre. It was an original play, written by Christopher Daniels, entitled ‘Last Call at the Old Southwest’. It tells the story of personal perspectives across a much larger movement. Same as it began our story, and that story as being part of the greater story of Love. The ongoing movement of love.

Amanda’s love of singing and dancing, Jesse’s love of poetry, and their mutual love of theatre and film have all coalesced into a relationship that is attempting to find its own voice and movement. Hour by hour, day by day, we try to grow higher up and deeper in to the creativity moving in our lives, the movement of our introverted selves towards each other, the movement in our hearts with regards to calling, responsibility, purpose, and meaning, as well as the movement of God through everything.

As it figures with heavy repetition, the word ‘RUE’ holds a unique role in the script of the play in which we met. The word ‘RUBY’ is of specific importance to us in the state in which we met amongst other things. As such, the conflation of the two, ‘RUEBY’, has become a part of our uniquely personal story.

We are completely on the same page in expressing that July 13th, 2015, right in the heart of ‘Artown’, represents the beginning of ‘Us’.

Our engagement was the culmination of the closing piece’s question of a poetry show being answered with a definitive yes on April 29th, 2017.

On the anniversary of our engagement, today, April 29th, 2018 we went to a parlor. We went to achieve artistic celebration of a date that bares significance to the movement that is our story. The piece celebrates our new word ‘rueby’, the date of our dating (and soon to be wedding) anniversary, and the concept of eternity that we struggle with. And to bring the story full circle, the gentleman who will be marrying us, our officiant and dear friend, Chris, is the very same who wrote the play.

Our movement is an attempt to love. Our love is an attempt to create movement. We move in each other’s lives. Please celebrate that with us.

It takes a village to cure what ails it, and there could be spillage when this occurs. But sometimes the collective nails it, to end this derailed fit, and Patton Oswalt’s heart stirs. Darkened men pillage and instill this sense of fear in so doing and knowing. While data miners spark wind of upcoming cheer for an end to this investigation ongoing.

Mi prometida, my soon to be bride @amandabrittney has me hooked on the @myfavoritemurder podcast and, as such, cheering even more so for this man’s capture. We listen to episodes on road trips and while carpooling together when we can. I now jokingly tell her that #ssdgm stands for “Stay Sexy, Don’t Get Murdered” AND “Stay Sexy, DO Get MARRIED.” I admit, she’s more of a #murderino than I am, but we make a decent #truecrime fighting team if you ask me.
