The world will tell you

that your story doesn’t matter.

The world will attempt to sell you

on the idea that you’re not enough.

The world wants your acquiescence

to what already befell you,

to the senseless chatter,

and giving in when

the going gets rough.

The world will judge you,

and smell you up and down

to sense your fear and doubt.

The world will yell at you

it’s just as well that you

give up now before you hurt

yourself or others who are innocent.

It will try to quiet your shout,

and try to imply that you’re about to

embark on the biggest mistake of

your life.

Being who you really are.

Being who you were intended to be.

Seeing things as they are.

For the first time, fully free.
