I hear echoes from the past
as I’m desperately trying to sleep,
the heavens are far too vast
for all the secrets they’re trying to keep.

For me, this is a day to focus on gratitude and humility before the provision from which I have benefitted. For me this is a day to honor lives lost and lives brought together by compassion and unconditional love in the face of systems of domination and oppression.

For me, this is a day to be contemplative, reflective, and actively listen to others with presence and peace.

For me this is a day to get stuffed, get puffed, and watch the fooseball until I’ve had enough.

For me this is a day, as all days, to give thanks to God for an unfolding plan I rarely understand but always trust.
