Even in a fictitious world,
one in which good always wins,
where nevertheless war exists,
imagine a delicate village
shell shocked from bombs
deafened by the sky’s fruits;
imagine a civilian standing
as she knows she’s going
to have her flame put out;
this woman in this village,
when her body collapses
to the ground,
there will always be
the author of life to see
and hear the overwhelming
sound.
